FAQs

What do you serve with fajitas?

Fajitas are a family favourite and a perfect meal for sharing because everyone can make just as they would like. Typically fajitas are made with strips of beef or chicken, peppers an onions. We recommend serving them with our Soft Taco Wraps for wrapping up and a selection of topping including sour cream, guacamole, shredded cheese, Serranos and your favourite Luchito salsa. To make it a complete meal, our Smoky Chipotle Refried Beans and some Mexican rice make excellent sides.

What is fajita sauce made of?

Gran Luchito’s fajita cooking sauce recipe is made with a blend of roasted bell peppers and tomatoes. We add traditional Mexican spices including garlic and mild chillies for a sauce mild enough for the whole family to enjoy.

Are fajitas a Mexican dish?

Yes although technically Tex-Mex. The term originated in the 1930s when ranch workers in West Texas would be given some parts of freshly butchered steer as a form of their partial payment. Eventually, the workers mastered the art of preparing tough cuts of beef through the fusion of Texan cowboy and Mexican Panjero foods. The result was the beginnings of Tex-Mex cuisine. The term “fajita” is a form of the Spanish word “faja” which refers to “belt” or “girdle”. Today, the word “fajita” has evolved into describing Mexican foods served rolled up in a soft flour tortilla, enhanced with fajita cooking sauce and other iconic ingredients.

What do you put on fajitas?

Depending on your taste and tolerance for spice, you can experiment with a number of fajita toppings. While mild grated cheese can make fajitas melty and delicious, salsa adds a unique zing to it. On the other hand, there is soured cream and guacamole for a creamier finish. And if you’re wondering how to make fajita sauce, you can get the ideal home-style flavours with Gran Luchito’s mild fajita cooking sauce.
