Nine Epic Breakfast Ideas
Weekend breakfasts are all about extravagance and indulgence. They’re about making up for all those boring bowls of mid-week cereal and rushed rounds of toast and marmite. They’re the two days of the week when you can really do justice to the most important meal of the day and make something special. They’re about eggs, avocados, butter, bacon and brilliant baked treats. Here are nine of our favourite breakfast ideas to kick start a wonderful weekend…
Eggs florentine is the mother of breakfast ideas which is why it takes our top spot.
Whether you’re putting this dish with eggs, bacon, vegetables or all of the above, it’s breakfast royalty and fully deserves its buttery crown.
If you’ve never tried this amazing Mexican breakfast dish, we suggest it’s about time you did.
We poached the eggs in a slow-cooked tomato and red pepper sauce made spicy with some Smoked Chilli Paste.
This is a great brunch idea which is great for sharing if you’ve got friends coming round. If it’s a hangover you’re trying to shake, this is guaranteed to help.
A healthy and delicious breakfast idea, this champion chilli breakfast has everything a growing chico needs. If you’ve got left-over chilli con carne, this is a great way to use it up as it works beautifully with a fried egg and guacamole.
Go on, be a champion this weekend!
The holy trinity of eggs, avocado and chilli never fails to make a top notch breakfast and this one’s no different. This is a simple breakfast idea that’ll have you making it time after time.
Its so quick to make, you could even squeeze this in on a weekday!
Chilaquiles are a traditional Mexican breakfast dish. If you’ve got them, soft corn tortillas are best, but if you can only lay your hands on the pre-fried version (tortilla chips), then use those instead. A rich spicy tomato sauce is poured over the crispy tortillas and then it’s topped with cheese and fried eggs.
Best served with a strong black coffee and orange juice. Enjoy!
This is one of our favourite breakfast ideas for the weekend. Perfectly scrambled eggs with chorizo, spring onions and topped with deliciously spicy Gran Luchito Smoked Chilli Ketchup.
To celebrate our launch into Albert Heijn in The Netherlands, we had to give this typical Dutch breakfast idea the Gran Luchito treatment. A Mexican Uitsmijter consists of an open sandwich with cheese, ham and fried eggs, with a generous layer of our Smoked Chilli Mayo
What is there not to like!
This is the most indulgent of breakfast ideas and probably best saved for a weekend when you can do it real justice.
Its sugary, meat and above all delicious. Have a go it you dare!
